My Approach

Hi, I’m Lori! The decision to obtain counseling can be a tough one to make, so thank you for taking that first step. You are about to embark on a unique and sometimes challenging journey that will hopefully help you feel better and grow as a human being.

Who am I? Well, I am a client-centered grief counselor who uses an eclectic approach to help you after a loss event. My style is a mix of spiritual, cognitive, and creative elements that help you navigate your concerns and provide useful tools you can apply to your life beyond the counseling session. Whether a loved one has died or you’ve experienced a divorce, a layoff or some other loss, you can find a safe space here with me to process what happened and explore possibilities about living in the wake of loss.

Within my specialty of grief and loss, I have a subspecialty of pregnancy loss. Losing a child during pregnancy or birth is a kind of loss that differs from other types and requires a unique and compassionate approach so you feel seen and heard. Because of my personal experience with this type of loss, I have a special heart and passion for helping you through this. I have also helped many women, men and families impacted by a loss of a child due to abortion. The type of grief associated with an abortion can be stigmatizing due to the political and societal views of abortion, so extra care is needed to help you unpack this kind of loss.
